Michele Erwin has a successful career in the Fashion Industry, having worked for notable fashion houses, such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. After her son was diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and experiencing the difficulties of traveling with a Wheelchair she knew something needed to be done. in 2011; taking her business acumen and passion for projects she embarked on the journey of getting wheelchairs crash tested for commercial flight and created All Wheels Up.
Alan is an Entrepreneur fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He graduated from Bentley University in 2013 with a Management Degree and since 2014 has been working as the Vice President of All Wheels Up, the first not-for-profit organization in the world to fund research and development for a “wheelchair spot” on commercial aircraft. The not-for-profit organization is working with airline carriers and aircraft manufacturers to make airplanes wheelchair accessible for the millions of people who depend on them for mobility and safe seating.
He is also active in the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Community and since 2015 has been serving on the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy Adult Advisory Council representing the voices of adults living with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy in PPMD’s legislative, policy, and program activities.

Steve Cullen, DSc, serves as Chair of All Wheels Up and is an executive at Aero Solutions. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former COO of an aerospace firm specializing in corporate aircraft modifications, he brings deep expertise in aircraft accessibility and more than a decade of experience influencing policy in Washington, D.C.
Steve has also held leadership roles as Chief Strategy Officer of a surgical instrument management company and COO of another aerospace organization. As a champion for disability-inclusive air travel, he has been instrumental in advancing key initiatives—including the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 and crash-test research at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research.
He holds advanced degrees in healthcare and business and is a Harvard University fellow.

With more than 10 years of experience as a disability rights attorney, William Crowley is a passionate advocate for people with disabilities on long-term care programs. He has also served on a number of boards and commissions throughout his career, including the Milwaukee Equal Rights Commission and a local accessible public transportation committee. As a quadriplegic with a spinal cord injury and a lifelong passion for travel, he is dedicated to working towards a future where air travel is safe, accessible, and dignified for people with all levels of ability.
Blake Emery is president of BlakeEmeryAssociates. A research, strategy and communication consultant, Blake was the former director of differentiation strategy for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Dave may be the “Greatest Sports Story” never heard! Born without legs, he was a three-sport athlete in high school in Arizona and became the only legless college football (Augsburg University) and Minor League Baseball player (St. Paul Saints) in College and Pro Sports history. Dave worked in TV for over 40 years, winning seven Sports Emmy’s during his 20 years at ESPN, and he appears in the Netflix movie, “The Saint of Second Chances.” A motivational speaker, father of three sons, professor and philanthropist, Dave’s courage helps him to positively move through life without concern for any perceived limitations, while helping others to find their potential.
Karyn McAlphin currently serves as Creative Design Lead at SEKISUI KYDEX, a global manufacturer of aviation-grade thermoplastics. Karyn works closely with designers and airline representatives to help them achieve their aircraft interior visions, drawing upon 25 years’ marketing experience working for a major North American carrier, with an emphasis on customer experience-related initiatives including cabin interiors, product development, customer research, and branding

Mary Muñoz traveled to Spain every year with her son who needed total care due to lissencephaly. As he grew older, she realized the inequality and extreme challenges that passengers with disabilities face in commercial air travel. A medical writer and editor by trade, Mary began volunteering with All Wheels Up in 2016 as a member of the Communications Committee. She now serves as board secretary.
Mindy Henderson is a passionate disability advocate, speaker, and author on a mission to create a world where inclusion is the norm and no challenge is too big to overcome. As Vice President of Disability Outreach & Empowerment for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, she works to ensure that people with disabilities are represented, empowered, and heard.
Mindy’s advocacy spans accessible air travel, universal design, inclusive employment, and authentic disability representation in media and fashion. She is the author of The Truth About Things That Suck, a motivational book offering perspective on adversity, and hosts a podcast of the same name. Her insights have been featured on CBS Austin’s “We Are Austin” and in Success Magazine, which named her a 2022 Woman of Influence.
Despite living with a disability, Mindy has accomplished remarkable milestones—from recording music with George Strait’s band to adopting her daughter from one of the world’s least accessible countries. She lives by example, proving that physical limitations don’t define one’s potential.
Mindy brings her relentless optimism, lived experience, and strategic leadership to the All Wheels Up Board, championing equity and accessibility for all travelers.

Richard S. Goldsand, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1977 with a B.S. in Accounting, Became a C.P.A. in 1980. He then went to become an independent Trader on the Chicago Board of trade,where he traded until 1991. Subsequently Rich went back to post graduate school and was trained in Marin County, California and became a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner.
Rich was first introduced to the Feldenkrais Method(R) in 1988 through his oldest daughter who was receiving lessons for her own movement difficulties. He began his studies of mind/body perspectives and human potential when he became certified in the Feldenkrais Method® In 1994. He has worked successfully with artistic performers, high-achieving athletes, individuals wishing to combat everyday stressors of life, and medical professionals seeking complementary therapies for clients.
He lectures and teaches at hospitals and colleges in Arizona And works closely with Dr. Charles Adler, Professor of neurology and chair of the Mayo Foundation Division Of Movement Disorders. Since 2000 Rich Goldsand has taught the Feldenkrais Method in the ASU Dance Department And has served as Feldenkrais Educational consultant for various ASU Athletic teams including men’s baseball, football, and women’s basketball. He Also trained members of the US Olympic Diving Team and in his private practice he has worked with prominent professional athletes.
Stephanie F. Lanza-Efthimiou is an Independent Certified ADA Coordinator and retired accessibility advocate with over a decade of experience at a major U.S. domestic air carrier. A leader in accessible transportation, she developed training programs, conducted audits, and championed safety and dignity for travelers with disabilities, earning recognition for her impactful work.
Walt Fluharty, All Wheels Up Board Member, Aviation Advisory Committee Walt worked at Boeing Commercial Airplanes for over 30 years before retiring in 2020. Most of his career was spent working within the supplier management organization on the development, certification, build, delivery, and installation of aircraft passenger seating.
His knowledge includes safety and crashworthiness requirements covering passenger seating and aircraft interiors; and how these requirements may be applied to the use of wheelchairs during air travel. This includes an understanding of both dynamic static testing requirements; and a focus on how seats, restraint systems, and related interior systems must protect all passengers from serious injuries.
Walt is a member of the All Wheels Up (AWU) Aviation Advisory board. He supports AWU testing of wheelchair and restraint systems, is an AWU advisor to university student groups, and acts as an AWU representative at industry forums and trade shows around the world.
