Our Vision

At All Wheels Up, we envision a future where air travel is universally accessible—regardless of physical, sensory, cognitive, or other disabilities, whether visible or non-apparent.

Through proof-of-concept research, dynamic crash testing, collaboration, and strategic advocacy, we are helping to dismantle long-standing impediments to safety and inclusion—reshaping aviation with solutions rooted in both rigorous science and lived experience.

As the pioneering 501(c)(3) nonprofit conducting FAA-compliant testing on wheelchair securement systems, All Wheels Up is proud to help lead the advancement toward equitable air travel. We leverage insights and evidence from crash tests, collaborative research, and expert observations to drive systematic change—from policy reform to engineering solutions.

Our vision is anchored by three strategic outcomes

  • Implementation of in-cabin FAA-compliant wheelchair securement systems and cabin modifications to ensure safe, dignified, and equitable air travel—advancing the health, comfort, and holistic wellbeing of passengers with disabilities.
  • Expansion of public education and community-based resources that equip passengers with disabilities, caregivers, and aviation personnel with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate every phase of the air travel journey with safety and dignity.
  • Deployment of standardized airline operational procedures for in-cabin reconfiguration for wheelchair securement—assuring FAA and IATA compliance, cost control, and on-time aircraft turnaround time (TAT)—complemented by Disability Competence Training to support passengers with disabilities.

The Center of Excellence for Accessible Air Travel

The vision includes the establishment of a federally designated Center of Excellence for Accessible Air Travel, anchored by leading research universities.

This center will conduct advanced research on restraint systems, aircraft configuration, wheelchair safety, and emerging technologies—unlocking the full potential of in-cabin accessibility for all passengers with disabilities. This includes equitable access to in-flight entertainment, onboard amenities, and aircraft restrooms, as well as the ability to egress independently, when possible, during emergency situations.

Through strategic collaboration, shared data, bold innovation, and public education, we are building awareness and shifting perceptions around disability and air travel. We are working towards an air travel industry where access is not an exception—but an operational standard. One in which every passenger, regardless of ability, can fly safely, confidently, independently, and without compromise. A future where inclusion is not just accommodated—but fully realized at 30,000 feet.
